Surgery Update

The Beacon Health Group is OPEN and accepting new patients. We have changed the way we are working to allow us to stay operational and effective during the Coronavirus outbreak. 

Please be advised our phone lines are very busy at this time due to the lines being used for telephone triage. Please try to use the electronic forms avaiable on the website or email queries to us where possible. Or alternatively try calling in the afternoon.

Please contact the surgery by telephone to make an appointment.  Do NOT come to the surgery.  Most appointments will be telephone or video consultations in the first instance.  If you need to be seen you will be invited to attend the surgery.  

Dispensary (Danbury only) 

The Dispensary is OPEN and medication can be collected. 

Could we please ask where possible that you allow 72 hours for collection of prescriptions and medication.

Support and Services during Covid-19

We have been informed by the Alzheimer’s Society through their Dementia Support Workers (who are professionally trained) that they are making welfare calls to patients if you have any concerns then please call the Dementia Connect support line on 01245 260911 (Mon-Fri, 8.30am to 5.30pm).

New 24-hour crisis mental health phone line

Dialling 111 and selecting the option for mental health crisis (option 2) will connect callers to staff at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) who will provide immediate support and advice.

The service is for people aged 18 and over. Anyone under the age of 18 or family members of anyone under the age of 18 in crisis, should call North East London NHS Foundation Trust’s Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Service on 0300 555 1201.

999 should still be used for anyone in need of treatment for serious or life-threatening physical health issues alongside a mental health crisis.

Extended Access Appointments

Mid Essex residents who need to see a GP or nurse on a weekday evening, Saturday or Sunday can now book an appointment by calling 01245 398055. (Phone line open on Saturday and Sunday for patients)

Appointments are available as follows:

  • Monday to Friday 6.30pm - 8pm
  • Saturday and Sunday 8am - 8pm

Consultations will usually take place via telephone or video call. If a face-to-face appointment is required, it will be at North Chelmsford Health Centre, Sainsbury's, 2 White Hart Lane, Springfield, Chelmsford, CM2 5EF.
